Analysis
On this page
“Analysis” lists every finding in a project: each popcorn phrase, tension, stakeholder and map argument, with the evidence behind it. This is where you correct a finding for the whole project, and where you can see how the findings were made.
The page is not in the sidebar. Open it from Present with “Open in Analysis”, either on the page or in a finding’s tools. “Return to presentation” takes you back.
The page describes itself as: “Read shared findings, inspect their evidence and see how they were produced.” It has three tabs: “Results”, “Recipes” and “Runs”.
Findings#
A finding is one result of the analysis. The “Results” tab groups them by kind: “Popcorn”, “Tensions”, “Stakeholders” and “Map arguments”.
- “Search” finds a finding by its words.
- “Kind” filters by kind.
- “Status” shows findings that are “In the analysis”, “Withdrawn” or “Both”.
- “Open map” goes to the Map.
Before any results exist the tab says: “No prepared results yet. Open Recipes to prepare results from this project’s eligible conversations.” Going live on “Present” or generating a map prepares results too.
Three ways to correct a finding#
| You want to | Use | It changes |
|---|---|---|
| Fix the wording | “Edit” | The finding everywhere in the project, the map included. |
| Take out a finding that is wrong | “Withdraw” | The whole project. The finding leaves the analysis and the map, and the audience no longer sees it. |
| Keep a finding out of the room | “Hide from this presentation” | The presentation only. The finding stays in the analysis and on the Map page. |
“Edit” and “Withdraw” are on this page and under “Review results” on “Present”. “Hide from this presentation” is under “Review results”.
Reword#
Change the words and dembrane asks “What did you change?”:
- “A typo”
- “Clearer words, same meaning”
- “The meaning”
For a change of meaning you also write why: “Why? One sentence, for the people you work with and anyone who checks later.”
Withdraw#
“Withdraw” always asks for that sentence. A withdrawn finding is out of the analysis and off the map, and the audience does not see it. It stays in the list under the status “Withdrawn”, and “Undo withdrawal” brings it back.
Hide from the presentation#
“Hide from this presentation” asks “Why not in this presentation?”. “Show again” brings the finding back. The Map page and this page do not change.
The history is kept#
Every change is kept with who made it, when, the kind of change and the reason.
- A changed finding shows “Edited by {name}, {date}” and a link “history”.
- The history lists each change with its reason and the wording before and after.
- “Use this wording” restores an earlier text.
The audience never sees the history. It is for you, your colleagues and anyone who checks the work later.
Recipes and runs: advanced tools#
Most hosts never need these two tabs. “Present” and “Map” prepare results for you.
- A recipe is one kind of analysis. The list includes “Arguments”, “Deduplicated arguments”, “Tensions”, “Stakeholders” and “Popcorn”. The buttons are “Prepare”, “Update results” and “Run again from scratch”.
- “Voice” on the “Recipes” tab asks “How should the phrases sound?”, with “dembrane default” or “Something else”.
- A run is one execution of a recipe. A run is “Queued”, “Waiting for inputs”, “Running”, “Ready”, “Needs review”, “Failed”, “Stopped” or “Superseded”. “Stop run” stops one, and “Steps and logs” shows what it did.
- One person can start 10 runs in 10 minutes.
Who can do what#

Analysis needs no paid plan. See roles & permissions.
